OUR BELIEFS

Dayspring Church is a part of the Assemblies of God – a voluntary fellowship of churches that share the following beliefs:

1. The Bible is the verbally inspired word of God. I Timothy 3:15-17
2. There is one true God, who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Deut 6:4
3. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. Hebrews 7:26-27
4. Humankind was created good but voluntarily disobeyed God (sinned), bringing physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Gen 1:26)
5. Our only hope of salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Eph 2:8
6. The ordinances of the church are baptism in water by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Mark 16:16, 1 Cor 11:26
7. All believers should seek and can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:8)
8. When people receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, they will be given a new spiritual language that the Bible calls “tongues” (Acts 2:4)
9. Sanctification is a life of separation from sin, realized by identifying with Christ’s death and resurrection. Romans 12:1-2
10. The church is Christ’s body, and exists for a three-fold purpose – to share the gospel, worship God, and help Christians grow. Eph 1:22-23
11. The church is to be led by individuals specifically called to and gifted for ministry. Eph 4:11-16
12. Divine healing is an integral part of the Gospel and was paid for by Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross. Is 53:4-5
13. All Christians who die before the return of Christ will be raised from the dead and enjoy eternal life (I Thess 4:16-17)
14. The second coming of Christ includes the visible return of Christ to reign for one thousand years. Mt 24:27
15. A final judgment awaits the wicked, both the dead and the living. Mt 25:46 Those who have not accepted Jesus as Savior will not go to heaven.
16. A new heavens and a new earth are promised in the Bible for all who have accepted Christ. 2 Peter 3:13
